I'm told, but it's still early that Incumbent Franklin Mayor Raymond Harris will be challenged by current At-Large City Councilman Kenny Scelfo and that former Parish President Oray Rogers is also considering  getting into the Mayors race.

Man that race is in a few months...if anyone is getting serious they need to be already out there making hay and painting signs. Two people for sure are running for Mayor...Incumbent Mayor Raymond Harris is running for re-election and Councilman Kenny SCelfo is running for Mayor. So there is an opening for a Council Race....anybody interested in the Franklin area????? ANybody got any new scoop?? I spoke to former Parish President Oray Rogers and he says he has been approached by several groups but has no interest in get back into politics.....may be because he is 78-79 years old. I know he has slowed down a lot.....who in the hell wants to run for office at that age?

Everything is really quiet in Franklin Politics.   Councilmembers Eugene Foulcard, Joe Garrison, Dale Rogers and Chuck Autin are all seeking re-election to their respective council district seats.  Councilman Kenny Scelfo is giving up his Council, At-Large seat to challenge Mayor Raymond Harris.  I haven't heard of anyone yet who is going to seek the open At-Large Council seat.   I also heard today that a Mr. T. Lee Horne who ran for U.S. President a few years back was also going to run for  Mayor of Franklin.  Has anyone else heard anything of Mr. Horne jumping into the Mayor's race.  The political scene  in Franklin should start heating up with official qualifying a few weeks away.

I just realized official qualifying starts tommorrow, Wednesday  02-03-10 thru Friday 02-05-10 ending at 5:00 P.M.   Qualifying is for Mayor of Franklin and all five Franklin City Councilman Seats.  It will be interesting to see if any of the City Council candidates get opposition and who is going to qualify for the open at-large City Council seat currently held by Kenny Scelfo who is going to qualify for Mayor.  Good Luck to all the candidates.

Mayor Harris wins re-election.
Chuck Autin re-elected without opposition.
Eugene Foulcard wins re-election.
Dale Rogers wins re-election.
John O'neil gets elected to the at-large Council Seat.
Incumbent Councilman Joe Garrisson loses his bid for re-election in a very close race.
Being I'm not a resident or voter of the City of Franklin these are just my observations from listening to various residents and business owners who live  in Franklin.
